Husband & wife team Chris and Mandy, both Ocean Yachtmasters, have cruised extensively both in and around Gibraltar's waters, as well as the UK, Canaries and the Caribbean. Our training background linked with this has enabled us to pass onto students, our firsthand knowledge.
We offer a professional and supportive environment with the personal touch. We treat students individually and as friends, not act as a "student machine". Mandy is available virtually any time for a chat about the courses and your place in the scheme.
Chris is "probably" the Instructor who has spent the longest time sailing and actively teaching the waters around Gibraltar - one recent student quote said:
"...he has a vast knowledge of the sailing area, including local history and information about commerce and culture of places visited."
The emphasis at Hercules Sailing is to provide an environment tailored to help students achieve their sailing goals.
To do this we guarantee small classes. Our regular ratio is 3:1 at NO added surcharge, but if we have 2 couples this can increased to 4:1.
If you a group of 4 or 5, wishing to be on the same vessel, please contact us to discuss logistics.
You, the student get your own private double cabin.
RYA courses are all about building confidence so we concentrate on these smaller classes with our 2 user friendly sized school yachts:
MAKORA – Jeanneau 36.2
DESERT STAR – Jeanneau 37
These yachts are well maintained with electronic navigation, such as chart plotters as standard.
To comply with the RYA recognition standards, your instructor remains on board from Monday - Friday and also, as expected, we spend 4 nights away from our home base of Marina Bay, part of the prestigious Ocean Village complex, unless extreme weather conditions dictate otherwise. This optimises your time on the water in different sailing situations.
We are committed to these tried and tested methods with small classes and high quality tuition.
MAXIMISE YOUR TRAINING TIME
and we look forward to welcoming you aboard.
